Remote Environment Survival Tactics Course™️ (REST™) This 3-day/24-hour course is a comprehensive training program that delivers the skills for surviving in a remote, high-risk, and/or hostile environment. The course teaches the five elements of a rural/wilderness survival crisis including, food gathering, water gathering, fire-starting, shelterbuilding, and signaling. Additional subject matter includes an extensive land navigation component - including terrain association, map reading, use of a magnetic compass, and GPS. An international component is included which details considerations for escape and evasion of hostile threats and resistance to exploitation and political indoctrination.

The instructor-led, comprehensive training program will include a balanced combination of classroom, practical labs and exercises.

Performance Objectives Include:

  • Survival kit selection and construction

  • Medical kit considerations

  • Medical self-aid and buddy-aid

  • Land Navigation (day and night)

  • Terrain association

  • Map reading

  • Magnetic compass

  • Global Positioning System (GPS)

  • Water survival, drown proofing, water body negotiation

  • Shelter selection and construction

  • Fire starting techniques

  • Emergency food and water considerations

  • Emergency signaling and communications

  • International considerations for resistance to exploitation and political indoctrination
