Tactical Rope Technician Course™️

Tactical Rope Technician Course™️ (TacRope™) - This 5-day/40-hour course provides government, military, public safety, and private security professionals with the requisite skills for conducting tactical/technical rope operations, including urban structure access, rural/wilderness vertical obstacle negotiation, and rescue/recovery operations.

The instructor-led, comprehensive training program will include a balanced combination of classroom, practical labs and exercises, and will culminate with a full mission profile capstone exercise in which students will plan and conduct a full-spectrum tactical rope mission.

Performance Objectives Include:

  • Role of the Tactical Rope Technician

  • Mishap and training safety plan

  • Development of standard operating procedures/guidelines

  • Knot-tying and rope management

  • Tower operations

  • Anchor selection and construction

  • Urban and rural/wilderness rappelling operations

  • Top belay, tie-off, and descender techniques

  • Urban structure climbing

  • Use of telescoping poles, hooks, and caving ladders

  • Night/low-light operations

  • Use of motor vehicles and unconventional climbing techniques

  • Rural/wilderness operations

  • Rural medical considerations

  • Lead climbing

  • Setting technical protection

  • Mission planning and intelligence requirements

  • Development of standard operational guidelines

  • Capstone Situational Training Exercise (STX)
